Walk-In Counseling Clinic every Tuesday from noon to 7:30pm

Every Tuesday from noon to 7:30pm, Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca offers a Walk-In Counseling Clinic in North Bay.  When you access the Walk-In Clinic, you will meet with a child and family therapist for a single session (approx. one hour) to address the child or youth’s mental health concern. The Clinic is located at Hands’ 222 Main St. E., North Bay office.

The Walk-In Counseling Clinic is available to children, youth, parents and families so drop in and see us! Last appointment is at 6:00pm.

Training Opportunity: Collborative Problem Solving

March 26-27-28, 2014 in North Bay, ON

This three-day training is intended for clinicians, social workers, educators, and front line staff members who are interested in becoming more proficient in the innovative and evidence-based approach to understanding and helping children and adolescents with severe behavioral challenges as described in the book, Treating Explosive Kids: The Collaborative Problem Solving Approach.

CPS is a process by which adults and children/youth resolve problems together. When problems are approached collaboratively, solutions are durable and address lagging skills that get in the way of success.

This training is being delivered by trainers certified by the Massachussetts General Hospital’s Think Kids Program.

National Family Literacy Day is January 27, 2014! Join the free celebrations in the following communities:

Burk’s Falls – Saturday January 18/14 – 10 am until 12 noon

  • Young at Heart Senior’s Centre
  • Music, stories, activities, free book for every child and free lunch

Free event for families, offering fun activities, stories, DrumFIT, lunch and a book for each child. Family Literacy Fun Day in Burk’s Falls is coordinated and presented by community partners on a Family Literacy Committee: Burk’s Falls, Armour & Ryerson Union Public Library, District of Parry Sound Social Services Administration Board, Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca, Parry Sound/Muskoka Ontario Early Years and The Friends of the Library – Burk’s Falls. Huntsville – Thursday January 23/14 – 6:15 pm until 7:15 pm
