Youth – We want to hear from you!

Posted on: January 5th, 2016

We want to hear your thoughts!

Ontario’s Moving on Mental Health plan aims to improve the way child and youth mental health services are delivered across the province. The goal is to offer consistent, coordinated and effective mental health services that make sense for youth. Child and youth mental health agencies throughout Ontario are in the planning stage of improving these services, and it’s important that we hear directly from youth.

Join us in a consultation about mental health services in your area mid-February 2016. Tell us what’s working, what’s not and how can we improve things. We value the perspective that youth have to offer and want to ensure that your voice is heard. By participating, you’re helping to shape how child and youth mental health services are delivered in your area and to identify priorities and opportunities for the coming years.

We are seeking youth co-facilitators in North Bay, Sturgeon Falls, Parry Sound/ Almaguin and Muskoka who will help lead the consultation and help recruit youth to attend, plan the agenda and co-facilitate a series of discussions to understand the youth perspective. We will support you with any training or skill development you may need to feel confident.

Honorariums will be given to youth who attend and will be provided after the consultation.

The pre-planning session is on January 15, 3:30 – 5:30pm with the Center of Excellence. One youth (14-24 yrs) is required from each area for this meeting who will co-facilitate with the Centre of Excellence.

For the consultation we are hoping to have 10-15 youth representing each area.

All information will remain confidential.

If you have any questions or are interested in participating, please contact Melanie Jolliffe at [email protected] or 705-384-5225 ext 2207.
