On Thursday, September 22, 2016, Samantha Simpkin of Callander Bay Dental presented Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca with a donation of $12,100 raised through their 2016 Smiles for Life Campaign. Hands’ staff and Board members welcomed Callander Bay Dental, and celebrated their commitment to supporting families in the Nipissing region.

The Smiles For Life campaign runs each year from March to June, and provides teeth whitening at a discounted rate, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting local charities. “Callander Bay Dental is very happy to support Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca through our Smiles for Life Campaign,” said Samantha Simpkin. “This is an ideal partnership and we are very proud to support the amazing work of the Hands team to improve the lives of children and families in our community.”

Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca provides children, youth, families, and developmentally challenged adults, with help and support in facing and working through social, emotional, behavioural, physical and developmental difficulties. Hands is an accredited organization of 230 employees who serve more than 9,000 families across Nipissing, Parry Sound, Muskoka and Northern Ontario each year.

The Smiles For Life donation will be directed to Hands’ Family Matters Campaign, in support of family mental health in our community. Paul Laperriere, Director of Corporate Services at Hands said “we are so grateful to the whole team at Callander Bay Dental for their compassion, support and dedication to helping children, youth and families in our community. These funds will go towards our new North East Ontario Family Help Centre right here in North Bay, the construction for which will begin this fall.”
