Sensitive Santa Visits Children with Autism

Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca, in partnership with Northgate Shopping Centre and Autism Ontario North East Chapter hosted two successful weekends of “Sensitive Santa” this holiday season. Sensitive Santa provides children and youth with Autism the opportunity to have a photo and visit with Santa in a sensory friendly environment.

In Muskoka, Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca in partnership with Autism Ontario North East Chapter hosted Sesnsitive Santa at the Hands office. Families took part in a special visit with Santa in an environment where measures were taken to reduce sensory overload.

L’Ami’s Garden Centre Donates Pumpkins to Children for Sensory Halloween

Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca held a Sensory Sensitive Halloween celebration on Saturday October 29, 2016 in North Bay. Children with autism spectrum disorders and their families enjoyed a Happy Haunted House, trick or treating, crafts and pumpkin decorating. A very BIG thank you to L’Ami’s Garden Centre for their generous donation of pumpkins and gourds for children with autism and their families to decorate.
