MOVING ON MENTAL HEALTH:

Transforming Child and Youth Mental Health Services in Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound

Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca and its Core Service Delivery Partners and Community Mental Health partners are continuing to work toward the transformation of Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) in the Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound service area.  This is also in collaboration with the Ministry of Child and Youth Services and the Provincial Consortium of Lead Agencies for provincial transformation of child and youth mental health services.

Over the next year

We will continue working with core service providers in our area to improve capacity to deliver to children, youth and families, and community mental health partners’ knowledge of:

  • What mental health services are available for children and youth in their service area;
  • How they can access these services;
  • What they can expect along the way; and,
  • That wait times are timely, transparent and will be matched to severity of need.

This year’s *focus is:

  1. Engaging Children, Youth and Families
    We will be engaging children, youth and families to ensure that your voices are reflected within our Community Mental Health Plan and beyond.
  2. Priorities of the Core Services Delivery Plan
    We will work with our Core Service Providers to share and review the core services currently available.  We will begin development of and implementation planning for Crisis Services, improved Access for services, and work with a child and youth mental health Planning Table to deliver stronger, more coordinated mental health services in the Service Area of Nipissing-Parry Sound-Muskoka.
  3. Priorities of the Community Mental Health Plan
    We will continue to engage with and strengthen relationships as we work with our community partners who provide child and youth mental health services, particularly via the Planning Table.
