National Family Literacy Day Celebrations this January!

National Family Literacy Day is January 27, 2014! Join the free celebrations in the following communities:

Burk’s Falls – Saturday January 18/14 – 10 am until 12 noon

  • Young at Heart Senior’s Centre
  • Music, stories, activities, free book for every child and free lunch

Free event for families, offering fun activities, stories, DrumFIT, lunch and a book for each child. Family Literacy Fun Day in Burk’s Falls is coordinated and presented by community partners on a Family Literacy Committee: Burk’s Falls, Armour & Ryerson Union Public Library, District of Parry Sound Social Services Administration Board, Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca, Parry Sound/Muskoka Ontario Early Years and The Friends of the Library – Burk’s Falls. Looking forward to having ‘more than 15 minutes of fun’ with you on Saturday January 18th!

Huntsville – Thursday January 23/14 – 6:15 pm until 7:15 pm

  • Huntsville Public Library
  • Music, stories, activities, “Zoo to You”, free book for every child and take home free snack

NOTE: Limited attendance – pick up free ticket at HPL

Free event for families, offering fun activities, stories, music, ‘Zoo to You’, snack to go and a book for each child. A Bedtime Storytelling Feast in Huntsville is coordinated and presented by community partners on a Family Literacy Committee: Community Living Huntsville, Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca, Huntsville Public Library, Muskoka Family Focus, Parry Sound/Muskoka Ontario Early Years and YMCA Literacy Services. Looking forward to having ‘more than 15 minutes of fun’ with you on Thursday January 23rd!

Gravenhurst – Saturday January 25/14 – 10 am until 11:30 am

  • Gravenhurst Public School gymnasium
  • Music by ‘Russ’, stories, activities, free book for every child and free snack

Free event for families, offering fun activities, stories, music by children’s entertainer ‘Russ’, snack and a book for each child. Family Literacy Fun Day in Gravenhurst is coordinated and presented by community partners on a Family Literacy Committee: Bracebridge Public Library, Gravenhurst Public Library, Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca, Literacy Society of South Muskoka, Muskoka Family Focus and Parry Sound/Muskoka Ontario Early Years. Looking forward to having ‘more than 15 minutes of fun’ with you on Saturday January 25th!
